The contract with Nichols Snow Plowing will not be renewed next season, for obvious reasons.
The association has signed a one year contract with a new snow plowing contractor.
Requests for Proposal were sent to several candidates whose work came highly rated.
RFPs included maps of the association and detailed requirements that include having a skid steer on site for the entire plowing season (image left). Serious candidates drove our property with a Board member aboard to ensure they understood the scope of work and our performance expectations.
The large trucks used last season caused significant damage, and there were numerous complaints about timliness.
Past experience with smaller and more agile skid steers suggests faster snow removal with far less damage.
The was even a slight decrease in annual cost.
